Bay City’s Independence Bridge to Close for Electrical Work

Bay City’s Independence Bridge will be closed for two days next week to allow for electrical work and testing. The closure, scheduled from 7:00 a.m. on November 12 to 7:00 p.m. on November 14, has been approved by the city.

During this time, traffic will be detoured to the Liberty and Veterans Memorial bridges. Bay City Bridge Partners (BCBP) stated that the closure is necessary to complete important work on the bridge. “We remain committed to minimizing disruption for the community and communicating planned closures as soon as possible,” BCBP said in a statement to  TV5 news . The company thanked residents for their patience during the closure. The Independence Bridge is expected to reopen on November 14 at 7:00 p.m.
