Bay City School Board Deadlocks On Custodial Hiring
July 9, 2019 1:01AM EDT
Discussion is expected to resume at August’s Bay City school board meeting over who will provide custodial service for district buildings.
Superintendent Stephen Bigelow says the district’s agreement with private contractor Caravan recently expired. Bigelow acknowledged lack of staffing is raising concerns over building cleanliness.
He spoke after trustees deadlocked three to three Monday over whether to hire up to 20 new custodians to handle facility maintenance.
