A Lansing man was recently arraigned in a Gratiot County court on charges of bank robbery.

37-year-old Joseph King is accused of robbing the Commercial Bank branch in Middleton on February 19. Police say King entered the building and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and King left the building on foot, heading north on Newton St, according to police. Police say he may have gotten into a getaway vehicle at some point.

King is in the Gratiot County Jail with his next court date scheduled for March 16. He also has a lengthy criminal history, including convictions for larceny, home invasion and drug possession.
