Baby Delivered with Help from Roscommon County Deputies

A baby boy was welcomed to the world Thursday in an unconventional fashion.
Luca Jameson Meir was born at 9:43 A.M., weighing eight pounds and measuring 21 inches long, in front of the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department. According to a Facebook post by the department, Chris Meir of Houghton Lake entered the department asking for help for his partner, Jessica Schaffer, who was in active labor. Luca was born with the assistance of Deputy Martin and Corporal Grace.
Higgins Township Fire & EMS and Denton Township Police Department also assisted at the scene. At last report, mother and baby were doing just fine.
