Authorities responded to an “active shooter incident” Saturday afternoon at a mall in Allen, Texas, a suburb in the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms reported.

Allen police reported an “active situation” at Allen Premium Outlets, and asked the public to “avoid the area.” Video posted to social media captured the sound of gunfire and panic among people in the mall’s parking lot.

The Collin County Sheriff’s Office later told CBS Texas that the scene had been secured and that the shooter was dead. No further details were provided.

There was also no immediate word on whether there were injuries or fatalities in the shooting itself.

In a statement on the incident, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said that he had “offered the full support of the state of Texas to local officials to ensure all needed assistance and resources are swiftly deployed, including DPS officers, Texas Rangers, and investigative resources.”
