Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center Has New Director

The Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw has a new permanent director.

The Department of Veteran’s Affairs has appointed Anthony Colón, who has served as the acting Director for the Northern Indiana VAMC since 2022. Colón has extensive healthcare leadership experience. In addition to serving as acting Director, Colón has served as Northern Indiana’s Associate Director since 2021. He first joined the VA family in 2010 as Health Systems Specialist at the Indianapolis VAMC. In 2011, he moved to Ann Arbor where he was named Executive Assistant to the Deputy Network Director in 2012 and Administrative Officer for Ann Arbor’s Facilities Management in 2014, before becoming Ann Arbor’s Chief of Prosthetics in 2015. Colón was promoted to Assistant Director of the VA Northern Indiana VAMC in 2019, before finally becoming the Associate Director in 2021.

Colón retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after 23 years of service in the Air Force, which included assignment to the Combat Readiness Training Center in Alpena from 1997 – 2001.
