Accused Oxford School Shooter May Testify at Parents’ Trial
Lawyers for James and Jennifer Crumbley, charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the November shooting at Oxford High School, say their son may testify at his parents’ trial. Their Attorney Shannon Smith told Oakland County Circuit Judge Cheryl Matthews Monday they want to call Ethan Crumbley to testify, but only on “extraneous matters,” and not the actual shooting. Matthews denied a request for a change of venue for the Crumbleys.
Four students were killed and others injured in the Nov. 30 shooting at Oxford High School. Ethan Crumbley, 15, is charged as an adult with 24 felonies, including four counts of first-degree murder. His trial will be held in January 2023, while his parents’ trial is scheduled for October of this year.
