Reward Offered for Info In Burton Arson Fire

Several law enforcement agencies are now investigating an arson in Burton.

On September 26, Scotti’s Coney Island at the corner of Belsay and Lapeer roads burned to the ground, with neighboring business Lisa’s Salon and Boutique damaged in the fire as well. Police have confirmed the fire was set intentionally, though they have not provided details as to what caused the fire. Investigating agencies include both the Burton Police and Fire departments, state police and the ATF.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the Burton Police Department or Arson Control at 1-800-44-ARSON, or visit DetroitCrimeCommission.org.
