30-Year-Old Convicted for Murder of Former Roommate

A Buena Vista Township man faces up to life in prison for the killing of his former roommate.

30-year-old Timothy Holden Junior was found guilty of second-degree murder, lying to police, and felony firearm last week. The charges stemmed from a shooting at an apartment complex which left 30-year-old Xavion Hopkins dead on February 11. Holden’s attorneys argued the shooting was in self-defense. Prosecutors say after the shooting, a camera inside the apartment captured Holden disposing of his gun, and with help from two others who were present, attempting to clean up the crime scene.

Both of those codefendants are awaiting sentencing for tampering with evidence. Holden’s sentencing is scheduled in October.
