19-Year-Old Man Killed In Midland County Crash
Police in Midland County are awaiting toxicology reports from a 19-year-old driver of a 2012 Chevy Silverado that claimed the life of a Lee Township man.
The truck was heading west on West Chippewa River Road in Greendale Township around 1:00 A.M. Saturday when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road just east of South Magruder Road. The truck left the road, striking a utility pole and some trees. The driver suffered only minor injuries in the crash, though his 19-year-old passenger was killed in the crash. Police believe alcohol and speed are factors in the crash.
The driver was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel, and was then arrested for operating while intoxicated causing death. He’s being held in the Midland County Jail.
