1 Arrested, 3 Suspected in Kochville Twp Shooting
Police have arrested a 16-year-old from Saginaw in connection to a shooting in Kochville Township on October 10th.
Gregory Smith III appeared in Saginaw County District Court for arraignment on 1 count of open murder, 2 counts of assault with intent to murder, and 3 counts of felony firearm after being his involvement in the drive-by shooting of 21-year-old Darius Jackson.
Saginaw County Sheriff’s deputies, who were in the parking lot of the Kochville Target store, found a number of brass 9-millimeter casings near the area Trautner Drive and Bay Road where the incident occured.
Two gunshot victims arrived at Covenant Healthcare’s emergency room a short time later.
The victims had been at the Home-2-Suites hotel and were heading west on Trautner when the suspect vehicle came up behind them and started shooting.
A 22-year-old front seat passenger was not hit, but the 17-year-old driver was grazed on the head in addition to Jackson being hit in the back seat.
Police are is still looking for a number of suspects believed to be involved in the case.
