On Monday Mornings, Charlie and Dave like to have “fun” talking Lions football.   We’ve been doing this for several years, thinking one of these years, we’ll follow the Lions into the Super Bowl!   One of these years (runs 4:18)

(Charlie Rood)   In another NFL note, this is about the Houston Texans owner/player situation from over the weekend.   When discussing the ongoing Star Spangled Banner issue in the NFL with other owners, Texans owner Bob McNair used the figure of speech “we can’t have the inmates running the prison”.   A phrase that has been used for a long time, and in this context, fits perfectly.   Of course, the players took exception, and once again, proved they are out of touch with the way “regular” people think (not high priced superstars who are out of touch with the real world – an over generalization, I admit).

Most of the Texans took a knee or sat during the anthem on Sunday, in protest of McNair’s comments, which should have been accepted as simply a figure of speech.   Perhaps it wasn’t because it does describe the NFL/Star Spangled Banner issue perfectly and the players don’t like that.

McNair apologized for those that may have thought he was literally saying the players were prisoners.

I  apologize for wasting your time with this drivel.

How about this headline:   “Doctor Says He Diagnosed His Own Cancer with iPhone Ultrasound Machine“.   How can you not click to find out more?

Did you  hear about the Kentucky/Tennessee football game over the weekend?   At one point, the referee assessed every player with a personal foul.   Check it out…

Wake Up Song of the Day:   Walk the Moon “Ghostbusters“.     We thought appropriate for October 30.   This is the version from the 2016 remake of the movie with the women doing the lead roles.   There were a couple of versions of the song on the soundtrack and we thought Walk the Moon was the best cover of  the original song by Ray Parker Jr.
