Tuesday 90’s Music Nostalgia Break–Lenny Kravitz

A day late thanks to being busy and home Internets issues.

On this past Sunday’s First Day show on WSGW, I played Lenny Kravitz’s “Heaven Help” in recognition of his 49th birthday.  Yes, that’s right, Lenny Kravitz is 49 years old.

“Heaven Help” comes from his 1992 smash album, Are You Gonna Go My Way, and has always been a personal favorite of mine.  For some reason, the Brits gravitated more towards this song than we Americans as it became a top 20 hit in Great Britain.  It barely broke through the Top 100 in the U.S.

While “Heaven Help” has been considered a “love song,” I get the feeling that Lenny declaring his love for God.  “Are You Gonna Go My Way” is basically an ode to God, so I don’t think I’m going-out on a stretch, here.
