Here’s the 2018 edition of “Pat’s Wonderful Wimbledon Winners” from the WSGW Morning Team Show with Charlie, Dave, Art, and Pat. This segment aired on the June 29, 2018 edition of the show. You can read the text of my predictions after the sound clips.

Also, we have provided you with an update on “Pat’s Wimbledon Winners” from the July 6, 2018 Morning Team Show. The reason we have an update is because one of Pat’s predictions failed to advance past the second round! Listen and laugh!

***********************************************************************

This is a little segment I would do on the former Sunday “First Day” show.

Besides providing listeners with my predictably flawed football predictions in the infamous “Pat’s Perfect NFL Picks” segment, I would also pick the winners in tennis’ four major championships.

But unlike my football picks, I tended to have better luck when it came to tennis.

So, without further ado, here is the 2018 edition of “Pat’s Wonderful Wimbledon Winners” prediction game.

On the women’s side, many are wondering if top seed Simona Halep can make it two majors in a month. Halep won her first major last month at the French Open.

She’s by far the most consistent player, but I’m not certain her game is made for grass.

You can’t overlook two-time champ Petra Kvitova, who’s played well of late.

And I’m hoping American Sloane Stephens follows up her French Open runner-up with a good showing at The All England Club.

But for me, I’m going with the defending champion Garbine Mugaruza!

She’s most comfortable on the grass, and when her game’s on…it’s on.

On the men’s side, it’s kind of sacrilegious to pick against seven-time champion Roger Federer, isn’t it?

Fed is the best grass court player, ever. He already won a warm up tournament a few weeks ago after taking-off the entire clay court season.

But he didn’t look unbeatable.

Hey’ the man turns 37 in August!

Father Time eventually catches everyone, including Roger.

I’d like to see one of the young players make a splash, like Alexander Zverev.

But I’m going with a bit of a shocker: Novak Djokovic.

I know, it’s not a real stretch to call a three-time Wimbledon winner a dark-horse kind of pick.

However, Novak’s not at his dominant level of play due to injuries.

That being said, he made it to the quarters at The French, and made it to a grass court warm-up tourney final last week.

Who wants to play Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon?

Nobody!

So, I’m picking defending champion Garbine Mugaruza to win on the women’s side, and Novak Djokovic to win his 4th Wimbledon title.

And that’s the 2018 edition of…”Pat’s Wonderful Wimbledon Winners” on WSGW’s Morning Team Show!
