Red Wings-Capitals Play In Battle of Unbeatens

I know that it’s still football season (and baseball season) in the eyes of many, but if you’ve got a chance, check-out a few minutes of tonight’s Detroit Red Wings-Washington Capitals contest.  The Wings are 5-0 after beating Columbus 4-2 last night, in a game where the Detroit power play finally made an appearance by tallying three goals.

Now, the Wings take to the road as they’ll battle the 6-0 Washington Capitals tonight at 6:40pm on WSGW 790AM.  While Stanley Cups are never won in mid-October, this still should be quite an enjoyable contest.  It’ll feature lots of skill with players like Pavel Datsyuk and Alex Ovechkin, talented defensemen on both teams, and solid goaltending.

So, before turning your attention to Michigan State-Wisconsin football, or Game 3 of the World Series, tune-in for a little Red Wings Hockey tonight.

Oh, and don’t forget about the Saginaw Spirit!  While they stumbled mightily out-of-the gate this season, but they’ve posted back-to-back wins.  The Spirit have Brandon Saad to thank for that after his FOUR goal night at Brampton Thursday night.  Next up for the Spirit is Peterborough at 6:50pm on WSGW 100.5FM.  Perhaps a little road-cookin’ is what the Spirit needed to re-focus?  Let’s hope!

Essentially, I guess what I’m saying is: it’s NEVER too early for hockey!
