Republican Representative Peter King of New York says it's "indefensible and inexusable" the House Republican leadership will not allow a vote on aid for victims of Superstorm Sandy...  GOOD, I say!

Because, according to the Wall Street Journal, this $60.4 billion dollar "emergency spending bill to provide relief for Superstorm Sandy victims" includes:

•     $150 million for Alaskan fisheries
•     $8 million for new cars/equipment for the Justice Department and Homeland Security
•     $2 million for roof repair at the Smithsonian
•     $4 million for the Kennedy Space Center
•     $3 million for oil-spill research
•     $348 million for the National Park Service
•     $17 billion for Community Service Development Fund and Social Service Grants
•     $188 million for Amtrak

That's what is "indefensible and inexusable"!

PLEASE!  Whenever "emergency funding" legislation is developed, debated, and discussed, can we STOP with the earmarks that have nothing to do with the original intent of this important work?

Of course, I'd like to see that happen with ANY legislation.   Vote on the specific intent of a bill without any additions allowed!
