Police Investigate Frankenmuth Home Invasion, Assault

Authorities say a 25-year-old woman escaped serious injury after being physically assaulted by an intruder Friday night.

The victim told Frankenmuth Police she heard someone enter her West Tuscola Street home through a sliding door. Thinking it may be friends she went to the room with the door and encountered a man she could not identify. He tried to drag her out of the house about 10:15 p.m, before fleeing.

Police set up a perimeter around the house with both a Saginaw County Sheriff K-9 team and a Michigan State Police helicopter searching the area. The suspect's trail ended in the 400 block of Trinklein, northwest of the Tuscola Street house.

Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in the area can call the Frankenmuth Police.
