Hemlock SemiConductor is the number one supplier for a Japanese company and its Phoenix-based subsidiary. Tokyo-based SUMCO says the Thomas Township-based Dow Corning subsidiary scored 92 out of 100 on the evaluation list based on product quality, technology, cost, delivery and customer service.
In the evaluation HSC was cited for contributing to SUMCO's financial performance with the commercialization of key polysilicon products. SUMCO manufactures electronic grade silicon wafers for the semiconductor industry. The companies make integrated circuits and semiconductor devices for computers, cell phones, digital watches and automobile engine systems.
Since SUMCO started the award in 2001, this is the sixth time HSC has won the top honor.
