Saginaw Explores Crime-Free City Rental Agreements

A crime-free lease agreement for city of Saginaw rental properties may be gaining momentum.
The idea is being explored by a Saginaw City Council committee along with representatives from public safety, neighborhood groups and the city's landlord association.
It would require renters to sign crime-free addendums with their leases - which rental property owners would provide as part of the contract.
Council Member Demond Tibbs said the model would be similar to ordinances in East Lansing and Saginaw Township.
The overall goal is to bring the proposal to city council for consideration, he said.
