Saginaw Officials Prepare For West Remington Road Work

Saginaw area motorists should watch for road work near Covenant Medical Center this construction season. City Engineer Beth London says about a half mile portion of  West Remington between Mason and Michigan Avenue will be rebuilt.

London explained that includes a new water main, catch basin and manhole replacements plus handicap compliant sidewalks along with conversion from three lanes to two.

London noted work is scheduled to begin May 27th or the day after Memorial Day and should wrap up around September 12th with the exception of grass restoration which won't be completed until October 31st. Local traffic, but no through traffic will be allowed and a detour will be posted.

The project cost on Saginaw's west side is estimated at about $1.5 million.
