Saginaw County 6th District Commissioner Katie Greenfelder is not planning to run for reelection this fall. Greenfelder, a Democrat, said she has a non life-threatening health condition that she needs to focus on completely. She said she'll fulfill her two year term, which expires December 31st, and may consider elective office some time in the future.
The filing deadline for candidates interested in running for the seat is April 22. The 6th County Commission District covers eight southern Saginaw County townships, plus the villages of Chesaning, St. Charles and Oakley.
