Stamas To Seek Seat In Michigan State Senate

Midland Republican Jim Stamas is seeking to replace a fellow Midland Republican in the state senate. Stamas, who's term-limited as the 98th District, representing Midland and Bay Counties, will seek John Moolenaar's 36th district Senate seat. Moolenaar is going to run to replace Dave Camp in Michigan's 4th Congressional District.

Stamas says Michigan is doing better, but it isn't good enough. He says customers at his family's Pizza Sam's in downtown Midland, are from all walks of life. They are affected by government and need a voice in Lansing that puts them first.

The 36th State Senate district covers 10 counties, including Alcona, Alpena, Arenac, Gladwin, Iosco, Midland, Montmorency, Oscoda, Otsego and Presque Isle Counties.
