Bay County Officials Encouraged By Wellness Related Initiatives

Bay County officials promise to continue wellness related initiatives started three years ago as part of efforts to reduce health care costs for employees and retirees.

County Personnel and Employee Relations Director Tiffany Jerry says free preventative care visits to the County’s Wellness Center are offered.

Jerry explained that helps people address needs like quitting smoking, changing diets to reduce fat and cholesterol and getting more exercise. She added that’s led to reduced prescription drug expenses.

Jerry noted 2017 will see more information provided to help in dealing with the stress and anxiety related to financial and mental health issues.
